For the last several years I have struggled with my weight. I had tried dieting on my own and several different popular programs out there. I would get results--and then gain the weight back as soon as I stopped eating the company’s pre-packaged food. It wasn’t something that I could continue to do for the rest of my life! I made all the changes that had been placed before me. I started coming to classes, training and eating differently than I had been. Slowly the weight began to drop off. I did not drop a lot of weight at once. I was losing a little bit at a time sometime only a pound or two a month. I was a little discouraged, but Bryan, the other trainers and others at the gym reassured me that things would change. They were right. Even though I was losing the weight slowly, I noticed that once I lost it, it would be gone forever. I was keeping the pounds I lost off for good.

The road to becoming healthier and losing weight is a bumpy one. There were times I thought I would never make it through class. Times I thought that the food plan was too hard to continue. I want to give Bryan McIntosh and his awesome staff at Dynamic Fitness my heartfelt thanks for helping me achieve the highest level of fitness I have experienced in my life since childhood. Bryan’s simple straightforward approach to nutrition sparked my interest in eating healthier. As I began to feel better and lose some body fat, Bryan added exercise to my program. Bryan drip fed me information on nutrition and fitness as I advanced as not to overwhelm me with too much information at once.

I arrived at Dynamic Fitness on Dec.20 2009 weighing 221 pounds, 38 inch waist, with a sore knee and back, lacking ample energy to meet the needs of two athletic boys. At 48 years old, my concerns about health issues had increased. Would I be the next person around my age to have a heart attack or develop cancer? Could I keep up with the younger people in my trade? I was getting tired of being out of shape and Bryan inspired me to start eating more vegetable and fruits as a beginning to better health. Simple stuff, he did not tell me to change my whole eating regimen, just add fruits veggies, drink more water, and watch the improvement. He then advised me to take a food analysis of my diet, which ended up being worth every penny, because it identified areas of my diet that I should improve.

I simply made the changes to my diet to include the 5 food groups in the proper serving amounts, began to reduce simple sugars and refined flour. I found my new eating habits easier to sustain than I once thought, especially when the weight started to drop off, and my strength and flexibility increased. I even eliminated coffee rather easily, and just drank water in the morning instead, and I was a big coffee drinker. Proper nourishment increased my energy levels, reduced fatigue, cut down on my headaches significantly, and gave me a new found sense of well being that I never had before.

Bryan assigned Nick as my personal trainer, and Nick took good care of my exercise needs. I had no work out experience at all before coming to Dynamic. Nick brought me along slowly, but pushed me to improve. Within a few weeks of eating better and training with Nick, I was excited about my progress. Bryan then added his trademark exercise classes to my program, and he pushed me to get stronger. The classes were more than I had ever done physically, but now I had confidence that I could make it because Bryan had showed me how nutrition and fitness go hand in hand. I now feel empowered to make good food choices wherever I go. I have learned to eat a good meal before I go a place with few good eating choices, to reduce the chances of poor eating. Preparation became the key to eating well at home. I learned to take a couple of hours each week to prepare nourishing foods that I could eat on the run, or pack in my lunch.

Exercise without good nutrition reduces the effectiveness of all the hard work a person puts into a session. Dynamic Fitness showed me how to combine good nutrition and rigorous exercise to help me lose almost 50 pounds in less than 8 months. My standing heart rate dropped to 44 beats per minute, along with my blood pressure which last checked in at 112/72. I need less sleep than before, and I sleep sounder than before. I have noticeably more strength and flexibility which helps my work and recreational activities.

I began exercising at Dynamic Fitness Group in May 2006 with the desire to lose about 30 pounds and have more energy. It was intimidating at first to start working out in a group setting since I was at my heaviest and most out of shape condition I had ever been in. Both Bryan and Gloria made me feel comfortable immediately as did several of the women in the classes. I had never been a fan of fitness classes; however, my experience at Dynamic was totally different.

The classes are very challenging, but allow for beginners to go at their own pace. Over a year later, I still feel challenged by each class I participate in! I particularly enjoy the kickboxing, body sculpting, Pilates and boot camp classes as well as the personal training sessions. I reached my weight loss goal and have made several friends. I believe the message at Dynamic is to take care of your body so that you can fully participate in all areas of your life. I love it when my kids say they want to have muscle like Mommy when they grow up!

All my life I have worked very hard to “be slim” and when I would gain a few pounds I would just cut back for a few days.

Our story began in January, 2010. Gordon and I had gone to Hawaii for a vacation. A few weeks before our trip, we had managed to loose a few pounds, nothing drastic but enough pounds to make us feel somewhat good about ourselves. The reality set in when looking at our vacation photos and saw how we looked. We realized that we had to make a drastic lifestyle change or it would kill us. I was a size 9, 144 pounds; Gordon was a size 42, and weighed 255 pounds. Gordon’s weight has always been a constant struggle for him, up and down! My weight fluctuated anywhere from 135 to 148 pounds. My exercise consisted of walking. I love to walk and thought that that was all the exercise I needed. I have absolutely no upper body strength so working out with weights wasn’t even an option for me. Gordon’s exercise consisted of using our home elliptical. We have tried a few of the diets, the carb diet and then there was Weight Watchers. When we did these crash diets, we did manage to loose the weight but over a period of time had gained it all right back and then some. Our cholesterol had shot up due to all the meat/cheese and eggs we ate with the carb diet.

My story goes back even further. I have known Bryan for about 10 years through his father whom I work with. I can remember when Bryan graduated from high school and his years at Baldwin Wallace. When he would call to speak to his dad, he would constantly talk to me about dropping in and observing some classes and him preaching healthy eating. He was very persistent and most of the time I would just roll my eyes when he would suggest it, I tend to be a very negative person. I would say to him “who has the time”? I used every excuse I could think of to avoid coming in and checking out his facility.

In February I realized that if I didn’t help my husband with getting some of the weight off he may not be around to see my son graduate college. Gordon’s family has a history of heart problems. His father passed away from a massive heart attack at the age of 57. I wasn’t in perfect shape either; I needed to loose some weight as well. I knew that this had to be a joint effort and for it to be successful.

We met with Bryan on a weeknight and after listening to him for over 2 hours. We signed up for personal training 3 times a week with his trainer Tom (he’s awesome). Bryan had us fill out food journals and put us on a healthy eating plan. We also decided to try the Juice Plus (can’t say enough great things about this product), my teenage son takes it as well. After a few weeks our trainer said that we were ready for some of the exercise classes and suggested we start slowly incorporating them into our to daily routine(I never thought I would see the day Gordon participating in yoga classes!). I love working out with my husband, he motivates me and really pushes me. We have been with Dynamic Fitness now for 5 months and have seen wonderful results. So far, I have gone from a size 9 to a size 4. My weight is pretty steady, 129 pounds and my arms look amazing! I still have a long way to go though, I still struggle with push ups and my upper body strength is not what I would like it to be. My new favorite class now is kickboxing. The instructors are all awesome! There is a class geared for everyone and you work at your own pace.

Gordon is so dedicated to his workouts. He is much disciplined and continues to workout daily given his busy work schedule. He has gone from 255 pounds to 215 and he looks phenomenal and there is a noticeable change in his physique. He actually is starting to run now too. We are not as agile as we used to be but realized that it’s never too late, no matter how old you are to start exercising.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Bryan and his facility. The folks that workout there are so friendly and really welcomed us, it’s like one big happy family there. It isn’t your typical workout facility! Folks are there for a reason, to workout hard and it pushes us even more. The trainers are just incredible, so encouraging and helpful. We are in our 40’s and its great to see folks our age working out, you don’t feel out of place or uncomfortable. Dynamic Fitness has changed our lives for the better. I only wish that I had been more open minded years ago. I realize now the importance of exercise and healthy eating. I still love my skittles though!

I did not know what it was like to be pushed until I trained with Dynamic. They pushed me well outside of my comfort zone. Dynamic was concerned with the entire package, not just the fitness.

They stayed on me about my cardio and would ask me everyday I saw them how the diet was going. The training was difficult but Dynamic kept me focused and on track. With Dynamic's help my body fat percentage dropped and I lost inches all over.

Friends were seeing changes in my body after only a few weeks. I felt so much better about myself, and had a lot more confidence.

I was first introduced to Dynamic Fitness Group as a Baldwin-Wallace student. I was taking Bryan’s self-defense class when he had asked me to teach a Zumba class at his studio. I loved teaching the class, but when I graduated six months later, I decided to focus on my new career, apartment, and life in general. Seven quick months later, I noticed that most of the muscle tone that I’d maintained as a college student had disappeared; I wasn’t too pleased with my lack of physical activity. I knew I had to go back to Dynamic, this time as a customer instead of an instructor!

After talking with Bryan about my goals, I started taking classes in January 2009 and was doing personal training twice a week. I couldn’t believe how out of shape I felt! And when I considered my nutrition and diet, I knew I had a lot of changes to make to my lifestyle. When I added to the exercise Bryan’s suggestion of sticking to a very lean and healthy diet for 30-days, I was absolutely amazed at the results. Three weeks in, I felt stronger, leaner, and had more energy than I can ever remember—and it lasted through the entire day! In addition to eating clean, I took Bryan’s advice and started the Juice Plus habit—I love the stuff. Since being on Juice Plus, I have not been sick one time. Fourteen months ago, I knew I was too heavy for my 5 foot ½ inch frame. At 143 pounds and climbing, I decided I had to do something quickly. I read an article about Dynamic Fitness Group and this “boy wonder” who was offering a 10-week Ultimate Body Sculpting (UBS) Program, guaranteeing weight loss and a better looking body or your money back. I thought, “What have I got to lose”.

Bryan suggested a couple of fitness classes to start with and a diet plan for the next 10 weeks. About 6 weeks into the program, I was not seeing ANYTHING different happening to my body. It was not changing fast enough and I was getting SO frustrated! I thought, “This guy is a quack” and that he was just another of the hundreds of people with the promise of the beautiful body and lack of result. I was extremely vocal about my disappointment to Bryan and he was very understanding to my concerns. He suggested adding a few personal training sessions to my workout regimen and told me to stick with the full 10-week program.

Unbelievably, in the next couple of weeks, the pounds just started to melt off! My clothes were fitting more loosely. I was actually starting to feel better about myself and how my body was looking and no longer had to hide in baggy clothes.

I could not have done it without the knowledge and expertise of both Bryan and Gloria and cannot thank them enough. They knew how much I could handle and they pushed me to that point and beyond, which I needed.

I have come to the point where I am constantly challenging myself to workout harder. Yes, I’m a Dynamic Fitness addict; but I know that I will be around much longer to enjoy my five grandchildren.

Being on diets and various exercise programs for most of my adult life, I would try something new, join a gym and lose a little weight, but I never got to where I really wanted to be, where I knew that I COULD be.

Then the weight and inches would creep back on, leaving me a little more desperate and disappointed each time; I failed again! But upon stepping into the world of Dynamic Fitness, that was all about to change.

From the very first day (I went by myself, not knowing anyone or anything about this facility) I was welcomed by both staff and students and was thrilled with all of the classes I took the first week.

I joined the gym and about 4 months into it decided to try Bryan’s UBS program. I was already stronger in the months since I began and I knew I had to take it to the next level. I found the Program (which is now a Lifestyle) easy to do: the diet plan is good and I found myself wanting to work out harder at each class. I almost immediately began seeing changes in my body – all for the good! Pounds and inches were coming off: I was seeing real results from all of my hard work.

Dynamic Fitness has changed not only my life, but my wife Kristin’s as well. When we first started working out here in August of ‘08, we had such negative images in our minds about our physical appearance, our health, and the idea of trying, yet again, to lose weight.

After only a couple weeks of being members at Dynamic Fitness, we both noticed significant changes in our mindset. We started feeling the “family atmosphere” that Bryan had described to us in our initial meeting with him. And we realized that the fitness goals we had previously thought were unobtainable were now reachable—thanks to Bryan and his dedicated staff, and most of all, our trainer, Rick.

From my own work, I know that people can be taught knowledge and skills, but people cannot be taught personality and character. I can say with certainty that Rick has been the game changer for both Kristin and me. Rick has the ability to push us beyond our comfort levels while keeping us positive; he has a great sense of humor that makes working out fun. After only 5 weeks of personal training with him and attending 2 or 3 classes per week, I accomplished many things—not only did I lose weight, but I also regained my health.

About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. With the help of medication, my cholesterol remained on the very high end of the normal range. My triglycerides were in the high range, falling anywhere between 205-230. I had tried on my own to lose weight, but it never significantly impacted my test results.

In October of ’08 I had my annual visit with my doctor. The results I received were mind boggling to me. After only 5 weeks of working out at Dynamic Fitness, my cholesterol was in the middle of the normal range for the first time in 5 years; my triglycerides also dropped from 220 in October of ’07 to 110 in October of ’08. This was a 50% improvement!

These test results were only the beginning. Since August, I have lost about 30 pounds, and Kristin has lost about 26 pounds. My body fat percentage has dropped from 29% to 21% and my waistline has dropped 5 inches . Kristin has lost over 4 inches on her upper body and has dropped 2 pants sizes. We are amazed that we are able to participate in tough cardio classes and training sessions, and our strength increases every week.

In summary, our whole family has benefited from Dynamic Fitness. Our children love being there, and we love the fact that we are setting such a positive example for them. We truly feel that Dynamic Fitness is the total package, and we can’t thank you enough for changing our lives!

I have always been interested in fitness. Throughout my 20’s and 30’s I was always able to keep my weight under control by eating pretty much what I wanted (though mostly healthy) and exercising. Things began to change sooner after and I was finding it more difficult to maintain a healthy weight even though I was still exercising and continuing to eat the same way. I admit to being a carboholic!

As time marched on, the 50’s crept up on me and I was having more and more trouble trying to keep my weight where it needed to be. I became frustrated with the vicious cycle of exercising the wrong way and eating too many of my beloved carbs. A chance meeting with Bryan, who we had known since his days in nursery school, changed my life and my outlook. He promised that he could help me get to the weight I needed to be and become stronger, leaner and more confident in the process. I must have been at the right place mentally to accept his offer and I began the quest of my life to become fitter.

Bryan prescribed a diet plan to help with the weight loss and personal training sessions that I thought was going to bring me to my knees at most sessions. He seemed to secretly laugh when he told us that “we might throw up”. I vowed to never let him see me get sick. Although the training sessions were difficult, I began to see changes in the way my clothes fit and the way I looked. I can definitely say that this process was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. In the end, it is the difficult things that make us stronger in every way.

I have always been one of those people who needed to lose weight. However, losing weight always seemed to take a back seat to other things in life such as supporting a family.

For a while, I made time to workout and play tennis, but as jobs changed and I decided that having my own business was what I really wanted, making time to continue to exercise, lost out. The longer I was away from the habit, the easier it became to ignore that part of life.

Thanks to Bryan, I had a realistic diet and exercise plan that gave me more energy and helped me to shed the 10 pounds of fat that I was unable to do without his assistance. Go Dynamic!

Over the last 4 years, I have been on and off different exercise programs. I have ordered multiple DVD’s from the internet, determined to achieve a fit mind/body independently.

I always thought I could do it on my own; however I was never able to stick with any particular program for longer than several months. I hated the idea of exercising in a class atmosphere with others who were actually “fit” and therefore horrendously intimidating to me.

Last June, I turned 37 years old. I was sick and tired of being tired, gaining weight and feeling stressed out. I kept driving by this place in Berea with a sign out front advertising “mind, body, fitness” and finally made a choice to find out more.

My first contact with Kelly over the phone put many of my fears to rest. She was so friendly and helpful it put me at ease. She set up a meeting for me with Bryan and I signed up. It has been one year now; I have lost 20 pounds, am sleeping better and have more energy than I have had in years. The classes are fun, yet tough. Bryan and Gloria each have unique styles and are ultimate professionals, grading the exercises for every level. They are easily approachable and provide continual support. They make it easy to keep coming back.

Those “fit” people who used to intimidate me? I fear I am now one of them…

Dynamic Fitness has changed not only my life, but my wife Kristin’s as well. When we first started working out here in August of ‘08, we had such negative images in our minds about our physical appearance, our health, and the idea of trying, yet again, to lose weight.

After only a couple weeks of being members at Dynamic Fitness, we both noticed significant changes in our mindset. We started feeling the “family atmosphere” that Bryan had described to us in our initial meeting with him. And we realized that the fitness goals we had previously thought were unobtainable were now reachable—thanks to Bryan and his dedicated staff, and most of all, our trainer, Rick.

From my own work, I know that people can be taught knowledge and skills, but people cannot be taught personality and character. I can say with certainty that Rick has been the game changer for both Kristin and me. Rick has the ability to push us beyond our comfort levels while keeping us positive; he has a great sense of humor that makes working out fun. After only 5 weeks of personal training with him and attending 2 or 3 classes per week, I accomplished many things—not only did I lose weight, but I also regained my health.

About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. With the help of medication, my cholesterol remained on the very high end of the normal range. My triglycerides were in the high range, falling anywhere between 205-230. I had tried on my own to lose weight, but it never significantly impacted my test results.

In October of ’08 I had my annual visit with my doctor. The results I received were mind boggling to me. After only 5 weeks of working out at Dynamic Fitness, my cholesterol was in the middle of the normal range for the first time in 5 years; my triglycerides also dropped from 220 in October of ’07 to 110 in October of ’08. This was a 50% improvement!

These test results were only the beginning. Since August, I have lost about 30 pounds, and Kristin has lost about 26 pounds. My body fat percentage has dropped from 29% to 21% and my waistline has dropped 5 inches . Kristin has lost over 4 inches on her upper body and has dropped 2 pants sizes. We are amazed that we are able to participate in tough cardio classes and training sessions, and our strength increases every week.

In summary, our whole family has benefited from Dynamic Fitness. Our children love being there, and we love the fact that we are setting such a positive example for them. We truly feel that Dynamic Fitness is the total package, and we can’t thank you enough for changing our lives!

The first time I met Bryan, he was sincerely confident that he could help me become healthier. There were no high-pressure sales tactics. It was clear that I only needed to make a commitment and that Dynamic would be there to help me achieve my goals.

With a family that includes three young children and a full-time job, there was just no time for me. I had to make a change. I have been exercising at Dynamic Fitness Group a minimum of three times per week for nine months and have lost a total of 53 pounds..

I feel younger and am physically stronger and leaner. The neck and back pain I used to routinely experience is now minimal. Bryan and Gloria ensure that my workouts are safe, yet effective.

My son had been taking karate at Dynamic Fitness Group for about a year before I started attending their fitness classes. After discussion and much encouragement from Bryan, I participated in his 10-week Ultimate Body Sculpting Program.

During the program, I successfully got on-track with an eating and exercise regimen. With the support of the staff and trainers, I lost 35 pounds in those 10 weeks. A year and a half later, I still maintain that weight. Sure, I have a 5-pound fluctuation once in a while, but I still keep my meal plan posted to the refrigerator and stick to it with few exceptions.

I have two active children, two jobs and the normal demands of life. Although I do not get to class as often as I would like, the fundamentals of proper diet and exercise that I have learned will never be forgotten nor the support diminished.

His self-esteem and respect for himself and others has also increased. There is something for everyone at Dynamic Fitness Group, regardless of age or fitness level. We love our “Dynamic Family”.
